On a Rainy Day
Belgium has a surprising climate, and to tell you the truth there's quite a risk of showers and rainy days. So here are some ideas to spend the day mostly inside. Away from your hotel room, of course. Ghent has a couple of interesting museums, religious art to be discovered in the cathedral and in the churches, impressive architecture in the Town Hall and the Belfry. And then there are numerous authentic tea-rooms and cafes, shopping streets and small curiosity shops to spend time in.

On rainy days, St. Baafscathedral, the Castle of The Counts, SMAK Museum are worth your visit. And if you're not into museums and art, there are plenty of coffee bars and pubs, or hundreds of high class boutiques and shops.

The central axis is the Veldstraat, but try the adjacent streets and the Vooruit area (Ghent South) to discover alternative clothing and accessories.
