The most attractive neighbourhood in Ghent is called Patershol. You will sense a historic perfume here, walking through the narrow streets and admiring the architecture of long gone centuries. The rich heritage of this neighborhood is also reflected in the local cuisine. Plotersgracht and Corduwaniersgracht, and the adjacent small streets, have a multitude of small restaurants to choose from.

Patershol has only one pub. It's called Rococo and it's an absolute thrill to have a drink there. You will find it in the Corduwaniersstraat right beside the Thai restaurant Le Baan Thai. Belgian-Dutch-French romantic style with a very personal service and a social atmosphere. Patershol has 2 saunas , bed&breakfast, hotel accommodation, art galleries, restaurants and an active cultural life.
You will soon discover that Ghent is one big restaurant district. There is plenty of choice to find good food and authentic atmosphere in almost any district. Try the Graslei and the Sleepstraat to find various styles of wine-and-dine-options.
